We are now 50% parents and have 50% custody. (Well, to be more accurate, Hottie Boyfriend has 50% custody and I support him in that).
It is school holidays in Australia (for 2 weeks) and we had Miss 7 for 1st half school holidays. The first time ever. At the beginning of Term 2 of school, she is going to a school 5 minutes from our house.
7 days with daddy. 7 days with mummy.
I was looking for a photo of school holidays and we have none. The first day or so Miss 7 was with us and she asked ”how about we start a new routine?”
”Sure,” I replied, ”what is it?”
”No TV, no phones and no computer.”
Okay. I wonder why she wanted that … we barely ever touch our phones when we have her (we only previously saw her for a couple of hours per week). I barely touched my computer in years (again, on couple hours per week) and TV is no big loss. There is nothing on. I’d rather pick up a book any day of the week.
Plus we were going camping for 3 days and had none of those things, anyway.
We went camping, saw deer + koalas, heard deer roaring, hung out on a hammock, played cards (UNO is now her FAV game), decorated her room (read: cleaned out), went to the library and read a LOT of books, did journalling, writing letters, did a gratitude challenge (list everything that we are grateful for, daily), rolled around on a trampoline eating Easters, selling toys of Gumtree….
And not one phone was taken.
Instead, we were completely present, RIGHT THERE, experiencing it.
I wasn’t ‘planning’ on having time off when we had Miss 7. I was just going to ‘see’ what happened. I knew there was a pretty good chance of no work or barely any work getting done, for school holidays and first time having her.
At the drop of a hat, without (too much) forethought and not (really) a plan I decided to had the 10 days off, straight.
No planning, no prep, no stress, no freakout, no business apocalypse.
And I’m loving that pretty hardcore, right now. It was never as easy as that. I use to freak out at half a day off work. Because there was always more that needed to be done. And emails, never-ending emails.
The last straw was when I went on a 2-day camping trip and I took my laptop with me. Sitting on the hill in the middle of nowhere, trying to find service… I decided this was ridiculous. And it had to change.
I decided my goal was to be able to have 2 days off, easily and stress-free and my business would keep running and keep making money.
I put systems in place (processes, time schedule, ESP – a good email service provider), automated what I could (automated email sequences and autoresponders + good shopping cart), outsourced a little bit (got a VA to do Facebook + Pinterest stuff), got some support (admins for the Facebook group).
Within a few months, I took that weekend off. Yes, it felt uncomfortable (because of change). And then got better.
Then I set a goal that I can take up to 1 week off straight, at a moments notice and still make more and more money daily. And that happened.
Then I set a goal that I can take up to 2 weeks off straight, at a moments notice and still make more and more money daily. And that happened.
Now my goal is that I can take up to 3 weeks off straight, at a moments notice and still make more and more money daily. And that will happened.
And while I had 10 days off. Yes, I kept making money. About $3,500+. While not working. All on auto-pilot and repeat. While on holidays.

Break down of income
Memberships were by far biggest income earner at 70%. This is for 2 reasons – I had a deal for 1-year enrollment at $97 and get bonus Startup Kit and had 7 sales. The other reason is I had 1-year membership fees come through for people who enrolled last year (at $58).
Last month doing my income report I realised that I had no 1-year sales. The price had increased in December (all memberships had doubled in price) and I had it at full rack-rate of $197 (which was about 6% discount to the monthly membership). After chatting to a mentor, she suggested trialling at 50% off and reminder me to have a limited time deal (thank you!)
The yearly recurring payments, though I knew they would come though, I had forgotten when EXACTLY and with the last few months being quite sick, it wasn’t my top of mind and was a nice unexpected surprise.
I did do a $10 deal this month but did with an affiliate partner, so put that income in the affiliate section.
I didn’t have other affiliate income come through this month (they are still a bit sporadic) sometimes being every 2-3 months.
Compared to 12 months + 24 months ago
I have been doing my own sales reports for myself for over 2 years now and can easily look back at sales from that time and compare.
In March 2018 I made $7880, in March 2017 I made $6745, in March 2016 I made $1207.
2016-2017 was the year that I quit my day job. I was (only) earning around $2000 per month by October, when I quit. And while it isn’t like a rocket ship since then, it has been consistent growth. And that pretty much rocks my socks off.
