Has blogging gone out of fashion and become a thing of the past, with every man and his dog doing it? While webinars sprouted up and are quickly fading, will blogging go the same way?
Recently a client asked me and I get it.
Blogging is an effort and time consuming. I mean you don’t ‘sell’ a blog, so what is the point in business, when in all honestly we know a website needs to capture email addresses and sell to a list. Right?
Blogging isn’t actually about a blog, but so much more than that. It is sharing you gifts with the world, sharing valuable content, building a relationship, becoming an expert in your niche, getting better google ranking and hell, it can be a chapter in a book!
7 Tips for Blogging Right Now For Your (Business) Future
#1 Getting Organic SEO and Google Ranking
There is no other (or better) way than blogging for organic SEO! That is how the Google bots find you. That is how they ‘register your keywords’. That is how you get Google ranking #1.
For my 3rd website of Angel Foods, I did 6 solid months of blogging 3 times per week. After 8 months I had organic Google ranking #1 (for 20+ sets of keywords), organic Google ranking #2 (for 30+ sets of keywords) and organic Google ranking #3 (for 40+ sets of keywords). The list goes on, but you get the picture.
Bare in mind, I was cemented in my niche (cake business expert), had sold hundreds of products with the previous 2 websites and really knew my target market and their thoughts, feelings, concerns. Add a dash of keyword research and I blogged the crap out of everything I knew. Hello, results!
#2 Create Stark Raving Fans
Sharing high quality content, being your piece of ‘eye fillet’ that you thought would be a secret to the day you die, is the secret to fans.
If you want people to buy from your restaurant, to you give them the casserole meat or a mouthful of eye fillet?
People start building the – know, like and trust factor.

#3 Build a Relationship
The blog content can be multi-purpose. Add the content straight into your email newsletters.
Alternatively, use it as a tool to direct them to your website to read the full blog article.
#4 Build Your Email Subscriber List (For Free)
All that blogging and SEO out the wazoo, brings me a lot of website traffic. I am averaging 200 000 website hits per month and 3000 new email subscribers from that organic SEO.
No matter what page on my website they land on, there is an Opt-in at the bottom of every blog article as well as a pop up opt in that shows to everyone at 20 seconds of being on my website.
#5 Social Media Content
Share that same blog post, the one that is also an email newsletter list, on all your social media platforms.
You don’t need to re-invent the wheel. Really good content needs to be shared with the world.

#6 Hello Amazon #1 Best Seller
That same content is a chapter in your next (or 1st) Amazon Kindle book. Seriously.
My first Amazon book was my blog posts ‘glued’ together, with my business story at the front and name dropping of my products and programs throughout the book. I did a 5 day free promotion on Amazon and dropped $100 into targeted Facebook ads and 500 downloads later, and I am Amazon #1 best seller in my category.
It is a fantastic lead generation tool, cements me as an expert in my niche and pretty good ‘feather in my cap’ and bragging rights.
Thinking about blogging is history? Nope, it’s the future. And I think should be a priority in business.
