I'm not good enough, I don't know enough, who am I to teach this thing?Sound familiar? When putting ourselves ''out there'' being a self-brand, personal brand, coach, creative ... we are selling something. And putting our things OUT THERE the negative Nancy thoughts, the self-doubt, the confidence crisis kicks in and those thoughts: ''I'm not an expert''''It's not worth the $$$''''Not in-depth enough''''It's not good enough'' Like, right now I am launching the #EasyPeasyPodcast course and when I think about selling this course.A little bit of doubt can pop up.Like I'm not an expert. ❌ Because I'm not a podcast expert, right.I don't talk, teach, promote podcast as my niche or my THING.That I don't know everything about podcasts and podcasting (I ... I’m coming out of the closet…
Right, I’m coming out. I use essential oils (doTERRA to be exact). And I love them. I had always heard about oils from my hippy sister and I used in my cake business as natural flavouring. I researched for about 12 months and to be really honest, I was equally attracted to the business model. What got me over the line? Well, 2 things: My mental health. Panic attacks in particular. They were out of control. The years of custody stress had taken its toll. I wasn’t alright. Up to 10+ attacks a day … well, that left me bedridden for 3 weeks. Another time 2 months off work. I could work maximum of ½ days and end up back in bed. Medicine and doctors was an option, sure, but I didn’t want pills. I heard essential oils help. And I could spend $ on GP and meds ... View Post
I am on track for $100k this year
I am on track for $100k this year. I recently published my October income report (my 2nd biggest month yet with my blog @ $10,300+). I updated the 2018 year running tally and I’m at over $83k. If I make an average of $8500 per month, in the next 2 months, I hit $100k. I made $83k in the last financial year (July 17 – June 18). And I have done that same money in 10 months, instead of 12. That’s about normal for me. About 10-20% organic consistent growth. And because I know you will be wondering HOW I make that type of money: 60% memberships 20% digital products (eBooks, eCourses) 10% ad revenue 8% affiliate 2% coaching + sponsorship That is with my main blog – Angel Foods – getting 80k page views per month and 18k email subscribers. My goal for 2018. ... View Post
$10,302.98 October 2018 Income Report
I wonder because I (we) have an easy life that THAT is ... well, uninspiring. Because BEFORE everything was harder. It was hard. We went through some tough times. I don't even want to list them or give words to them. I don't want to give energy to the thing or time or attention. I don't want to remember or re-think of them. They are the past and long gone. Yet a part of my story. A part of my make up. A part of my personality and who I am today. I drew on those experiences, plus the intense or strong feelings for writing. Nowadays we don't have those experiences - well, the negative ones. Nowadays we have a positive mindset and a simple life. That is the ''worst'' of our life. It is simple. A simpler life. An easier life. No stress. Easy. So easy. I never ... View Post
$8896.27 September 2018 Income Report
For September 2018 I earned $8896.27 in gross sales from my blog and online business. While I had a weeks holiday AND school holidays. I just got back from a week-long holiday to my hometown Proserpine, in the Whitsunday's (north Queensland, Australia). As our first family holiday (ever), driving 13 hours there and back, in a 7 day period, with a kid and dog and a limited budget we had .... well, no expectations. (I don't want to say low expectations, but we certainly didn't have high ones! To be fair, that is more my mindset, that I can't be disappointed if I didn't have hope.) And honestly, it was a 9/10 trip, for us. We like stuff simple, and quiet, and not the lavious 5-star luxury type of people. We visited all the family, swam in pool & lagoon, walked the ... View Post
$7,422.16 August 2018 Income Report
For August 2018 I earned $7,422.16 in gross sales from my blog and online business. I have been ''blogging'' for 7 years, but to be fair my first blog was a ''failure''. It wasn't until I upgraded my website to a self-hosted WordPress (dot org) website and got a new theme in 2014 that I knew what I was supposed to do with it. That is when I published 2-3 times per week for 12 months. Yep, a year. I was growing my email list at the same time as SEO'ing my blog posts. Later I learned about Pinterest strategy. (I share my Pinterest steps here). Nowadays, I do similar. I publish about once per week. I SEO the blog post and share on Pinterest and email out to email subscribers. THAT, over and over again is exactly how I turned this ''hobby'' into an income. THAT, is how I ... View Post
