SEO is search engine optimisation or getting up to Google #1, which is where we are wanting to be.
Blogs and online businesses are wanting to be found via customers looking to pay for your goods and services.
There are 2 ways of getting up in google being paid advertising or organic optimisation.
Organic is what I prefer, because it costs nothing, is smarter SEO, and is a much more solid foundation for your business growth.
I had a $300 SEO Coaching call this morning with an SEO Expert and decided to share what I learned.
7 Tips for SEO
#1 Know your numbers.
Or you can call it tracking your stats (statistics). Knowing how many people come to your website is your starting point, whether that is on weebly dashboard or Google Analytics.

#2 Tweak. Change. Repeat.
Keep changing it up. Change your home page, about page, blog posts, sales copy, words, pictures. Keep trying new things (and then refer to #1 and track your stats.)
#3 Home page title & description.
This is known as ‘meta tag ‘ and ‘beta tag’. It is just page title and description. Have a paragraph telling people what you do. Refer to #4.
These are the words people type into google. They are your potential customers who have a problem, and you want to try and solve it. For example ”order a birthday cake in RedlandBrisbane”. Those are keywords. Those keywords need to be on your website. Then any DIFFERENT orientation of those keywords, like ”boys cakes, girls cakes, anniversary cake, cupcake tower, Bayside region, Redlands, Cleveland, surrounding suburbs”. Get it?
#5 Easy Backlinks.
Comment on others blog posts with your website address. That is free backlinks.
Like commenting on this post, which will take 20 seconds. You could comment on 3 posts in 60 seconds!
#6 Be smart with photos.
Use small size photo’s, so your website doesn’t take ages to upload (otherwise people will navigate away). Also make sure you have photo description, called Alt Text or Alternative Text, which Google uses to index your photos.
#7 What the hell is a Meta Tag & Beta Tag?
In simple terms it is page title and description, or the headline and 1st paragraph. You need to have Keywords in there.
