As a self-proclaimed content creating a machine, I am extremely productive. Want to know how?
Did you know you are less productive when focusing on more than 1 thing at a time?
To work efficiently we have to single task. No multitasking.
I was reading this on the weekend and it blew my mind. Yes, I had HEARD it (probably hundreds of times) but I didn’t really understand it.
Every day I have at least 20 tabs open (on my computer). At LEAST. (In my brain probably 100 tabs.) And it honestly feels like I run in circles for most of the day.
Sure, I am getting stuff done but it is never fast enough, more at snail’s pace! When my style is to smash stuff out of the ballpark, mediocre or average (or SLOW) is just not good enough!

6 Hacks for Productivity
#1 Focus. (On 1 thing at a time.)
Close down those tabs (on our computer and in your brain). Work on 1 project / 1 task that needs to get done right then. That blog post, that content, that proposal, that clients work, those emails.
#2 (Pre) Plan Your Day.
Waking up and saying, ‘right what do I need to do today?’ and randomly starting, isn’t going to cut it. List your priorities, in order of important to urgent, with deadlines. Start with important and go smash that list!
Bonus points for planning your day the night before.

#3 Set Your Intention
Be the master of your mind, thoughts, actions and To Do list. Only you have the power to create magic and only you have the power to scroll Facebook all day and wonder why you didn’t get as much done as you had ‘hoped’ (without having a plan from #2).
#4 Track Time
Your blocks of time and how long something takes you is yours and ONLY yours. No one can ‘take’ your time from you. For a day (or a week) write down how long tasks take you. (Emails, Facebook, blog, project, client work, work that brings in the moolah).
Bonus points – for a day (or even a week!) write down how you spend 15-minute intervals!

#5 High 5 Yourself
Tick off your To Do list as you smash through it! (Or give yourself a sticker, piece of chocolate or a literal *high 5*!)
Because THAT rocks and you rock and all WINS – big or small – need to be celebrated, because they lead to the big wins!
#6 Fark, No One is Perfect
Do I maximize every single minute of every single day? Fark no. I get tired and loose productivity. But the key is I don’t beat myself up over it. I recognize it and start a fresh the next minute … the next hour … the next morning.
There is always the choice to start afresh with a new focus. The choice is a powerful thing!
